Jishu Nag is an Indian artist. When one encounters his work, is often astounded by the breath of his vision. The effortless meddling of urban, rural and sometimes even religious elements is simply breath-taking. Though he may draw his inspiration from various sources, they all seem to co-exist peacefully on his canvasses. The seamless coming together of ideas makes for a beautiful piece of art always.
Jishu’s work is full of force and bold strokes and they reflect a passion of action and rhythm in the part of the artist. He says, “It is the reflection of my daily life, may be impression of past or present. It represents my nature”. As an artist Jishu has a strong influence of Rabindra Bharati, Shantiniketan where he did his BFA in painting. As a youth he was trying to explore different mediums and styles and mainly charcoal drawing.
