Suraj S Walke, born in Mangalore, Karnataka, India completed his BVA degree in Painting from Mahalasa College of Visual Art, Mangalore. He has participated in many group shows. He was one among 96 artist selected from 3365 artist in the Lalit Kala Academy- National Exhibition held in 2010. Besides he has also won Camlin Art Foundation Awards, PTL Mangalore and MS Academy Ujjain M.P. Mindscapes is his first solo exhibition.[read more]
Suraj S Walke- in his creative process of painting, the forms that emerge are not preplanned but are developed through a process of playing with transparent colours, delicate textures, simple reliefs are referenced by his mind. Besides that gives a shape to his artistic imagination into abstraction. The thin, finely graded washes, sensitive tonal values, meta-physical visuals, patterns and divisions of picturesque 'spaces' are interdependent with his aesthetic sense.
